I travel quite a lot for my job and so usually end up having dinner by myself in cafes. I usually take a novel or magazine with me to help pass the time. Recently, I was in PRINCETON NJ where I ate at Sultan Wok Princeton and I read a new piece to do with bamboo clothes. I had no idea you are able to make fabric out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. I found out bamboo fabric is softer than most cotton. They say it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is a fantastic quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent making it a excellent option for gym clothes or even as bamboo towels. I was interested by what I had discovered so I had to find out for myself. I searched online and purchased some items of clothing.
I have to say I was extremely impressed with the quality. The fabric absolutely is soft, similar to silk. It was almost dry as soon as I removed it from the washing machine which I think is great. The other thing I noticed is that it did not particularly require ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is something I look for as I hate ironing.
After a little more research I discovered some other interesting pieces of information to do with bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows incredibly quickly which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. Plus bamboo uses only a small amount of water during the growth period so they can survive droughts.
I attempt to make eco friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as sheets, socks, curtains, and baby clothes.
You can find some articles on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
