I travel a lot for my studies and so often end up having my dinner all alone in restaurants. I usually take a book or magazine with me to help pass the time. Recently, I was in PRESCOTT WI where I ate at Restaurant and I read a really interesting cover story about bamboo. I had no idea you are able to make fabric out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. It turns out bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than most cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is an excellent quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent which means it is a great choice for gym gear or also as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by these claims so I had to find out for myself. I looked online and got a couple items of clothing.

I must say I was pretty impressed with the quality. The fabric absolutely is soft, similar to silk. It was close to being dry when I removed it from the washing machine which I think is great. I also noticed is that it did not necessarily require ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is something I look for as I hate doing ironing.

After some more research I found some more amazing facts to do with bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows extremely fast which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. Plus bamboo uses only a small amount of water during the time it grows meaning they can survive droughts.

I do my best to make eco-friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for clothes and other products such as towels, blankets, rugs, and baby clothes.

You can find some information on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
