I travel a lot for my studies and so usually end up eating by myself in local restaurants. I like to take a book or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. Last week, I was in POTTSTOWN PA where I ate at Miss Yvonne's Rajun Cajun Deli and I read a really interesting article to do with bamboo clothes. I did not realise you can make clothes out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some great qualities. It turns out bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than most cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is an excellent quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent so it is a great possibility for gym wear or even as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by what I had discovered so I had to find out for myself. I searched online and bought a couple pieces of clothing.

I should say I was pretty happy with what I bought. The fabric definitely is soft, similar to silk. It was close to being dry when I took it from the washing machine which I think is amazing. Another thing I noticed is that it did not necessarily require ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is what I look for as I can not stand ironing.

You can find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are many organic apparel stores where you can get organic cotton clothes as well bamboo sheets.

After some more research I found some other amazing pieces of information to do with bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows very rapidly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. Plus bamboo requires only a small amount of water during the growing period meaning they can survive droughts.

I try to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for clothes and other products such as robes, blankets, curtains, and baby clothes.

You can find plenty of information on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
