I move around a lot for my studies and so regularly end up eating by myself in local restaurants. I usually take a book or magazine with me to help pass the time. Last week, I was in PORTSMOUTH VA where I ate at Zero's Subs - Chesapeake and I read a really interesting piece on bamboo. I had no idea you could make clothes out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some amazing qualities. For example, bamboo fabric is softer than regular cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is a fantastic quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent so it is a excellent possibility for gym gear or even as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by what I had discovered so I had to find out if this was really the case. I went online and got some pieces of clothing.
I must say I was pretty impressed. The fabric absolutely is soft, not unlike silk. It was almost dry as soon as I took it out of the washing machine which I found to be great. Another thing I noticed is that it did not really need much ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is a quality I look for as I can not stand ironing.
Check out the latest bamboo clothes here or there are many organic clothes stores where you can purchase organic cotton clothes as well bamboo sheets.
After some more research I found out some amazing facts to do with bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows very quickly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. Plus bamboo uses very little water during the time it grows which means they can survive droughts.
I do my best to make eco friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for clothes and other products such as towels, socks, rugs, and baby clothes.
You can find some information on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
