I travel quite a lot for my job and so usually end up eating alone in local restaurants. I like to take a book or magazine with me to prevent boredom. Recently, I was in PORTLAND OR where I ate at Le Bistro Montage and I read an interesting cover story about bamboo clothes. I had no idea you could make clothing out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some amazing qualities. I found out bamboo fabric is softer than regular cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is an excellent quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent making it a good possibility for gym wear or even as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by this article so I had to find out if it was true. I searched online and purchased a couple pieces of clothing.
I must say I was pretty impressed with the quality. The fabric absolutely is soft, similar to silk. It was close to being dry after I took it from the washing machine which I think is amazing. I also noticed is that it did not really require ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is what I look for as I hate doing ironing.
Find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are many organic clothing stores where you can get organic cotton clothes as well bamboo linen.
After some more research I found some other interesting details on bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows incredibly quickly which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. Plus bamboo requires little water during the growing period which means they can survive droughts.
I try to make eco friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothes and other products such as towels, socks, curtains, and baby clothes.
You can find plenty of information on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
