I travel a lot for my studies and so regularly end up having dinner alone in local restaurants. I often take a novel or magazine with me to help pass the time. Recently, I was in PORTLAND ME where I ate at Thailand Restaurant and I saw a new piece to do with bamboo clothes. I did not realise you can make clothing out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some great qualities. For example, bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than organic cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is a fantastic quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent which means it is a excellent possibility for gym wear or even as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by this article so I had to find out if it was true. I searched online and got a couple items of clothing.
I should tell you I was extremely impressed. The fabric absolutely is soft, kind of like silk. It was close to being dry as soon as I removed it from the washing machine which I thought was incredible. I also noticed is that it did not particularly need ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is what I look for as I hate ironing.
You can find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are plenty of organic clothes stores where you can buy organic cotton clothes as well bamboo towels.
After a little more research I found out some more incredible pieces of information about bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows very rapidly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo uses little water during the time it grows so they can survive droughts.
I do my best to make eco-friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothes and other products such as towels, underwear, rugs, and baby clothes.
You can find more details on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
