I travel quite a lot for my work and so usually end up having my dinner by myself in local restaurants. I like to take a good book or magazine with me to prevent boredom. Last week, I was in PORTLAND ME where I ate at Yosaku Japanese Restaurant and I saw a new cover story about bamboo clothes. I did not realise you are able to make clothes out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. For example, bamboo fabric is softer than regular cotton. They say it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is a great quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent making it a good choice for gym clothes or even as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by this article so I had to find out if it was true. I went online and purchased some items of clothing.
I must tell you I was pretty impressed with the quality. The fabric definitely is soft, kind of like silk. It was pretty much dry when I took it from the washing machine which I thought was great. Another thing I noticed is that it did not really require ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is what I look for as I hate doing ironing.
After some more research I found out some more interesting details about bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows incredibly quickly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. Plus bamboo uses very little water during the growth period which means they can survive droughts.
I try to make eco friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as robes, blankets, rugs, and baby clothes.
You can find more articles on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
