I travel quite a lot for my job and so usually end up having my dinner by myself in cafes. I like to take a good book or magazine with me to prevent boredom. Recently, I was in PORTAGE MI where I ate at Meijer Inc - Restaurants and I came across a new piece on bamboo. I had no idea you are able to make clothing out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some great qualities. I found out bamboo fabric is softer than organic cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is an excellent quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent so it is a good option for gym gear or also as bamboo towels. I was interested by this article so I had to find out if it was true. I went online and purchased some items of clothing.
I should admit I was very impressed. The fabric definitely is soft, similar to silk. It was close to being dry when I removed it from the washing machine which I think is great. I also noticed is that it did not particularly require ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is what I look for as I hate doing ironing.
After some more research I found some more incredible pieces of information about bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows incredibly rapidly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo requires very little water during the growing period which means they can survive droughts.
I try to make eco-friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothing and other products such as sheets, underwear, curtains, and baby clothes.
You can find more information on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
