I travel quite a lot for my job and so regularly end up having dinner all alone in local restaurants. I like to take a novel or magazine with me to help pass the time. Last week, I was in PORT SAINT LUCIE FL where I ate at Coastal Foods Inc and I read an interesting piece to do with bamboo. I had no idea you can make clothes out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some great qualities. I found out bamboo fabric is softer than most cotton. They say it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is a great quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent which means it is a excellent possibility for gym wear or also as bamboo towels. I was interested by what I had discovered so I had to find out for myself. I searched online and purchased a couple basic items of clothing.
I should admit I was extremely happy with what I bought. The fabric absolutely is soft, similar to silk. It was almost dry as soon as I took it out of the washing machine which I found to be amazing. The other thing I noticed is that it did not particularly need ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is a quality I look for as I hate doing ironing.
After a bit more research I found some more interesting details about bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows extremely quickly which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo uses only a small amount of water during the growing period so they can survive droughts.
I do my best to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothing and other products such as robes, blankets, rugs, and baby clothes.
You can find some details on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
