I move around a lot for my job and so usually end up eating all alone in restaurants. I like to take a book or magazine with me to help pass the time. The other day, I was in PORT CHESTER NY where I ate at Corner Stone Market at Belle Fair Inc and I saw an interesting piece on bamboo clothing. I had no idea you could make fabric out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some amazing qualities. I found out bamboo clothing is softer than regular cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is a great quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent so it is a excellent possibility for gym wear or also as bamboo towels. I was interested by what I had discovered so I had to find out if it was true. I searched online and purchased a few basic items of clothing.
I have to tell you I was pretty happy with what I bought. The fabric definitely is soft, similar to silk. It was pretty much dry after I removed it from the washing machine which I found to be great. The other thing I noticed is that it did not necessarily need ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is a quality I look for as I hate ironing.
You can find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are plenty of organic clothing stores where you can get organic cotton clothes as well bamboo towels.
After a bit more research I discovered some other interesting pieces of information to do with bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows very rapidly which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. Plus bamboo needs very little water during the growing period so they can survive droughts.
I try to make eco friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for clothing and other products such as towels, blankets, rugs, and baby clothes.
You can find plenty of articles on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
