I travel quite a lot for my job and so usually end up having dinner by myself in cafes. I usually take a good book or magazine with me to prevent boredom. Recently, I was in POPLARVILLE MS where I ate at Carver's Restaurant and I saw a really interesting cover story about bamboo. I did not realise you can make clothing out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some amazing qualities. It turns out bamboo clothing is softer than regular cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is an excellent quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent so it is a great option for gym gear or also as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by what I had discovered so I had to find out if this was really the case. I searched online and purchased some items of clothing.

I must tell you I was very impressed. The fabric really is soft, not unlike silk. It was pretty much dry as soon as I removed it from the washing machine which I found to be great. I also noticed is that it did not really require ironing. I do not know if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is something I look for as I hate ironing.

After a little more research I discovered some more incredible details on bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows incredibly rapidly which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. Plus bamboo uses little water during the growth period meaning they can survive droughts.

I do my best to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as towels, socks, curtains, and baby clothes.

You can find some articles on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
