I travel a lot for my work and so regularly end up having dinner by myself in local restaurants. I like to take a book or magazine with me to help pass the time. The other day, I was in POMPANO BEACH FL where I ate at Reds Backwoods BBQ and I saw a really interesting cover story to do with bamboo. I did not realise you could make clothes out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. I found out bamboo fabric is softer than organic cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is a fantastic quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent so it is a great option for gym gear or possibly as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by what I had discovered so I had to find out for myself. I went online and got a few pieces of clothing.

I should tell you I was pretty happy with what I bought. The fabric absolutely is soft, kind of like silk. It was pretty much dry as soon as I took it out of the washing machine which I found to be amazing. Another thing I noticed is that it did not particularly need ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is something I look for as I hate ironing.

You can find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are plenty of organic apparel stores where you can purchase organic cotton clothes as well bamboo sheets.

After some more research I discovered some other incredible details about bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows extremely fast which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. Plus bamboo needs very little water during the growth period so they can survive droughts.

I do my best to make eco-friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for clothes and other products such as robes, socks, throws, and baby clothes.
