I travel quite a lot for my studies and so usually end up eating by myself in local restaurants. I like to take a book or magazine with me to help pass the time. The other day, I was in PIERCETON IN where I ate at Blue Lion Coffeehouse and I read an interesting article to do with bamboo clothes. I did not realise you can make clothing out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some amazing qualities. It turns out bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than organic cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is a fantastic quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent making it a good choice for gym clothes or also as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by this article so I had to find out if it was true. I went online and bought some items of clothing.

I should tell you I was extremely happy with what I bought. The fabric definitely is soft, similar to silk. It was pretty much dry when I took it from the washing machine which I thought was great. Another thing I noticed is that it did not really need much ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is a quality I look for as I can not stand ironing.

After a little more research I found some other amazing details about bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows very quickly which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. Plus bamboo requires very little water during the growing period which means they can survive droughts.

I do my best to make eco friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as towels, underwear, rugs, and baby clothes.

You can find more information on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
