I travel a lot for my job and so often end up eating by myself in restaurants. I often take a novel or magazine with me to prevent boredom. Last week, I was in PHOENIX AZ where I ate at Aunt Chiladas and I saw an interesting piece to do with bamboo. I did not realise you are able to make clothes out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some great qualities. For example, bamboo fabric is softer than most cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is a fantastic quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent making it a great possibility for gym wear or also as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by this article so I had to find out for myself. I went online and bought a couple basic items of clothing.

I have to tell you I was very impressed. The fabric definitely is soft, not unlike silk. It was close to being dry when I took it from the washing machine which I think is incredible. I also noticed is that it did not necessarily need ironing. I do not know if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is a quality I look for as I can not stand ironing.

Check out the latest bamboo clothes here or there are many organic apparel stores where you can get organic cotton clothes as well bamboo towels.

After some more research I found some other interesting pieces of information about bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows very fast which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. Also bamboo requires little water during the growing period which means they can survive droughts.

I attempt to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as towels, socks, curtains, and baby clothes.

You can find more information on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
