I travel quite a lot for my studies and so usually end up eating alone in cafes. I like to take a novel or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. Recently, I was in PHOENIX AZ where I ate at LA Guadalupana Restaurante and I saw an interesting piece on bamboo. I did not realise you can make clothes out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some great qualities. It turns out bamboo clothing is softer than regular cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is an excellent quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent making it a good option for gym clothes or possibly as bamboo towels. I was interested by this article so I had to find out if this was really the case. I went online and bought a couple basic items of clothing.

I have to tell you I was very happy with what I bought. The fabric really is soft, similar to silk. It was close to being dry when I took it from the washing machine which I thought was amazing. The other thing I noticed is that it did not necessarily need ironing. I do not know if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is what I look for as I hate doing ironing.

Check out the latest bamboo clothes here or there are plenty of organic apparel stores where you can buy organic cotton clothes as well bamboo sheets.

After some more research I found out some other interesting pieces of information about bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows incredibly quickly which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. Plus bamboo requires little water during the growth period which means they can survive droughts.

I try to make eco friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as robes, socks, rugs, and baby clothes.

You can find plenty of information on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
