I travel quite a lot for my studies and so usually end up having my dinner all alone in cafes. I often take a good book or magazine with me to prevent boredom. Recently, I was in PHOENIX AZ where I ate at Nuevo Horseshoe Bar & Restaurant and I read an interesting piece about bamboo. I had no idea you can make clothing out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. For example, bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than organic cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is a great quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent which means it is a great possibility for gym wear or possibly as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by this article so I had to find out if this was really the case. I went online and bought a few pieces of clothing.
I should admit I was extremely happy with what I bought. The fabric definitely is soft, similar to silk. It was close to being dry after I removed it from the washing machine which I found to be great. I also noticed is that it did not necessarily require ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is a quality I look for as I can not stand ironing.
After a little more research I found some amazing pieces of information to do with bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows very rapidly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. Plus bamboo requires only a small amount of water during the growing period so they can survive droughts.
I attempt to make eco-friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as towels, blankets, curtains, and baby clothes.
You can find some articles on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
