I move around a lot for my job and so regularly end up having dinner all alone in local restaurants. I like to take a novel or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. The other day, I was in PHOENIX AZ where I ate at Tommys Burger Place and I read a really interesting piece on bamboo clothing. I did not know you could make clothing out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some amazing qualities. For example, bamboo fabric is softer than most cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is an excellent quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent so it is a excellent choice for gym wear or possibly as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by these claims so I had to find out for myself. I searched online and purchased some pieces of clothing.

I should admit I was pretty impressed with the quality. The fabric really is soft, kind of like silk. It was close to being dry after I took it out of the washing machine which I thought was incredible. The other thing I noticed is that it did not necessarily require ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is something I look for as I hate doing ironing.

You can find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are plenty of organic clothing stores where you can purchase organic cotton clothes as well bamboo towels.

After a bit more research I found out some more amazing facts to do with bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows very fast which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. Also bamboo needs only a small amount of water during the time it grows which means they can survive droughts.

I do my best to make eco-friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for clothes and other products such as sheets, socks, rugs, and baby clothes.

You can find more information on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
