I travel quite a lot for my job and so often end up having dinner alone in restaurants. I like to take a novel or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. Recently, I was in PHILADELPHIA PA where I ate at Caffe Sportivo Italiano and I read an interesting piece to do with bamboo clothes. I did not realise you are able to make clothing out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some great qualities. For example, bamboo clothing is softer than organic cotton. They say it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is a great quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent making it a great possibility for gym gear or also as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by this article so I had to find out for myself. I went online and bought some pieces of clothing.
I have to say I was very impressed with the quality. The fabric absolutely is soft, not unlike silk. It was pretty much dry as soon as I took it from the washing machine which I found to be great. Another thing I noticed is that it did not necessarily require ironing. I do not know if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is a quality I look for as I can not stand ironing.
Check out the latest bamboo clothes here or there are many organic clothes stores where you can buy organic cotton clothes as well bamboo sheets.
After some more research I found some more amazing facts about bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows extremely rapidly which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. Plus bamboo needs little water during the time it grows which means they can survive droughts.
I attempt to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as towels, underwear, throws, and baby clothes.
You can find some information on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
