I move around a lot for my work and so regularly end up having my dinner by myself in restaurants. I like to take a book or magazine with me to prevent boredom. Recently, I was in PEQUABUCK CT where I ate at Pequabuck Kitchen and I saw an interesting article to do with bamboo clothes. I had no idea you are able to make clothing out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some amazing qualities. For example, bamboo fabric is softer than most cotton. They say it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is a fantastic quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent which means it is a good possibility for gym wear or even as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by what I had discovered so I had to find out for myself. I went online and got a couple basic items of clothing.
I have to tell you I was extremely impressed. The fabric really is soft, not unlike silk. It was almost dry when I took it out of the washing machine which I think is great. The other thing I noticed is that it did not really need ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is a quality I look for as I hate ironing.
After some more research I found out some more amazing pieces of information to do with bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows extremely fast which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. Plus bamboo uses little water during the time it grows so they can survive droughts.
I try to make eco friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as towels, socks, throws, and baby clothes.
You can find plenty of details on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
