I move around a lot for my work and so regularly end up eating by myself in local restaurants. I often take a good book or magazine with me to prevent boredom. The other day, I was in PENNSAUKEN NJ where I ate at PHO 2001 and I saw an interesting article about bamboo clothes. I did not know you could make fabric out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. It turns out bamboo clothing is softer than most cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is a great quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent making it a excellent possibility for gym wear or possibly as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by what I had discovered so I had to find out if this was really the case. I went online and got a couple basic items of clothing.
I should tell you I was pretty impressed with the quality. The fabric really is soft, kind of like silk. It was pretty much dry after I removed it from the washing machine which I found to be amazing. Another thing I noticed is that it did not particularly need much ironing. I do not know if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is a quality I look for as I hate doing ironing.
After some more research I found some more amazing pieces of information on bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows extremely quickly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. Also bamboo needs only a small amount of water during the time it grows meaning they can survive droughts.
I do my best to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for clothing and other products such as towels, underwear, throws, and baby clothes.
You can find more details on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
