I travel a lot for my job and so usually end up eating alone in restaurants. I often take a good book or magazine with me to prevent boredom. The other day, I was in PEEKSKILL NY where I ate at Blue Mountain Deli and I came across a new article on bamboo. I had no idea you could make clothes out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some amazing qualities. I found out bamboo fabric is softer than regular cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is a great quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent so it is a good possibility for gym clothes or possibly as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by what I had discovered so I had to find out if it was true. I went online and got some pieces of clothing.

I have to say I was pretty impressed with the quality. The fabric definitely is soft, kind of like silk. It was almost dry as soon as I took it from the washing machine which I found to be incredible. I also noticed is that it did not particularly need ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is what I look for as I can not stand ironing.

After some more research I found out some amazing facts about bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows very fast which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. Plus bamboo needs only a small amount of water during the growth period so they can survive droughts.

I try to make eco friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as towels, underwear, rugs, and baby clothes.

You can find plenty of articles on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
