I move around a lot for my work and so regularly end up having dinner by myself in cafes. I usually take a book or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. Recently, I was in PECOS TX where I ate at Best Western Swiss Clock Inn and I read an interesting piece on bamboo. I had no idea you can make fabric out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some great qualities. I found out bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than organic cotton. They say it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is a great quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent so it is a great choice for gym wear or even as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by this article so I had to find out if it was true. I searched online and purchased some pieces of clothing.
I must tell you I was pretty impressed with the quality. The fabric really is soft, similar to silk. It was almost dry when I took it from the washing machine which I found to be incredible. Another thing I noticed is that it did not particularly require ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is a quality I look for as I hate ironing.
Find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are plenty of organic clothes stores where you can get organic cotton clothes as well bamboo sheets.
After some more research I found out some interesting pieces of information about bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows very quickly which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. Also bamboo uses only a small amount of water during the growth period which means they can survive droughts.
I try to make eco friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for clothing and other products such as sheets, blankets, throws, and baby clothes.
You can find plenty of information on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
