I travel a lot for my job and so often end up having my dinner by myself in cafes. I often take a good book or magazine with me to help pass the time. Last week, I was in PATERSON NJ where I ate at Ralph Piccolo's Pizza and I came across a new cover story about bamboo clothes. I did not realise you can make clothing out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. It turns out bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than most cotton. They say it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is a great quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent which means it is a great possibility for gym wear or also as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by this article so I had to find out if this was really the case. I went online and got a few pieces of clothing.

I have to say I was very happy with what I bought. The fabric really is soft, similar to silk. It was almost dry when I took it out of the washing machine which I think is great. Another thing I noticed is that it did not really need ironing. I do not know if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is something I look for as I hate doing ironing.

After a bit more research I discovered some incredible details to do with bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows incredibly rapidly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. Plus bamboo uses only a small amount of water during the time it grows meaning they can survive droughts.

I attempt to make eco friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as robes, underwear, curtains, and baby clothes.

You can find more information on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
