I travel a lot for my work and so usually end up having dinner alone in cafes. I usually take a novel or magazine with me to prevent boredom. Recently, I was in PATERSON NJ where I ate at Pizza Mare and I saw a new article on bamboo clothing. I had no idea you are able to make fabric out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. I found out bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than most cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is a great quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent so it is a good choice for gym wear or possibly as bamboo towels. I was interested by this article so I had to find out if this was really the case. I searched online and bought a couple basic items of clothing.

I have to say I was pretty impressed. The fabric absolutely is soft, kind of like silk. It was close to being dry as soon as I removed it from the washing machine which I think is incredible. I also noticed is that it did not particularly need ironing. I do not know if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is a quality I look for as I hate ironing.

After a little more research I found some more amazing facts on bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows very fast which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. Also bamboo uses only a small amount of water during the time it grows meaning they can survive droughts.

I do my best to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as towels, socks, rugs, and baby clothes.

You can find plenty of information on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
