I move around a lot for my studies and so often end up having dinner all alone in restaurants. I often take a novel or magazine with me to help pass the time. Recently, I was in PASO ROBLES CA where I ate at Marv's Original Pizza CO and I saw a really interesting piece on bamboo clothing. I had no idea you could make clothing out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some amazing qualities. For example, bamboo clothing is softer than organic cotton. They say it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is a fantastic quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent which means it is a great option for gym clothes or even as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by this article so I had to find out if this was really the case. I looked online and bought some basic items of clothing.
I should tell you I was pretty impressed. The fabric really is soft, kind of like silk. It was close to being dry when I removed it from the washing machine which I think is amazing. Another thing I noticed is that it did not necessarily require ironing. I do not know if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is what I look for as I can not stand ironing.
You can find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are numerous organic clothes stores where you can purchase organic cotton clothes as well bamboo sheets.
After some more research I discovered some more amazing facts to do with bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows incredibly quickly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. Plus bamboo needs very little water during the growth period so they can survive droughts.
I attempt to make eco-friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothing and other products such as sheets, blankets, throws, and baby clothes.
You can find more articles on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
