I move around a lot for my work and so regularly end up having dinner by myself in local restaurants. I often take a novel or magazine with me to prevent boredom. Last week, I was in PASADENA MD where I ate at Hardee's of Pasadena and I came across a new article about bamboo clothing. I did not realise you are able to make fabric out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some amazing qualities. For example, bamboo clothing is softer than regular cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is a fantastic quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent making it a great option for gym wear or also as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by these claims so I had to find out if it was true. I went online and bought a few pieces of clothing.
I must tell you I was very impressed. The fabric really is soft, not unlike silk. It was almost dry after I removed it from the washing machine which I thought was amazing. I also noticed is that it did not really need much ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is a quality I look for as I can not stand ironing.
After a little more research I found some other interesting pieces of information about bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows very fast which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo requires little water during the growing period so they can survive droughts.
I try to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as towels, socks, throws, and baby clothes.
You can find plenty of details on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
