I travel quite a lot for my studies and so usually end up having dinner by myself in cafes. I like to take a novel or magazine with me to prevent boredom. Recently, I was in PASADENA MD where I ate at Callie's Mountain Market Place and I saw an interesting article about bamboo. I did not know you can make fabric out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some amazing qualities. I found out bamboo clothing is softer than organic cotton. They say it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is an excellent quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent making it a good possibility for gym clothes or even as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by these claims so I had to find out for myself. I went online and bought a few items of clothing.
I have to say I was pretty happy with what I bought. The fabric definitely is soft, similar to silk. It was close to being dry as soon as I took it out of the washing machine which I think is great. The other thing I noticed is that it did not particularly need much ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is what I look for as I hate ironing.
Find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are many organic apparel stores where you can buy organic cotton clothes as well bamboo linen.
After a bit more research I found out some other interesting details to do with bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows extremely rapidly which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. Plus bamboo requires only a small amount of water during the growth period which means they can survive droughts.
I do my best to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as robes, socks, curtains, and baby clothes.
You can find some details on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
