I move around a lot for my studies and so regularly end up having dinner by myself in local restaurants. I often take a good book or magazine with me to prevent boredom. The other day, I was in PARKERSBURG WV where I ate at Red Roof Inn Parkersburg, Wv and I saw an interesting piece about bamboo clothing. I had no idea you can make fabric out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some amazing qualities. It turns out bamboo clothing is softer than most cotton. They say it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is an excellent quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent making it a excellent choice for gym gear or possibly as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by what I had discovered so I had to find out if this was really the case. I went online and purchased a few basic items of clothing.

I must tell you I was very impressed with the quality. The fabric definitely is soft, similar to silk. It was almost dry when I removed it from the washing machine which I thought was great. I also noticed is that it did not really need ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is something I look for as I hate doing ironing.

After some more research I found out some other amazing details about bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows very quickly which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. Also bamboo requires little water during the time it grows which means they can survive droughts.

I try to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothes and other products such as towels, blankets, throws, and baby clothes.

You can find some details on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
