I travel quite a lot for my job and so regularly end up having dinner alone in local restaurants. I usually take a book or magazine with me to prevent boredom. Last week, I was in PARK CITY UT where I ate at The Stew Pot and I saw a new cover story to do with bamboo. I had no idea you could make clothes out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some great qualities. I found out bamboo fabric is softer than organic cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is an excellent quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent making it a great possibility for gym gear or also as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by what I had discovered so I had to find out if this was really the case. I went online and got some pieces of clothing.
I have to tell you I was very happy with what I bought. The fabric really is soft, similar to silk. It was almost dry after I took it out of the washing machine which I thought was great. I also noticed is that it did not necessarily need much ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is something I look for as I hate doing ironing.
After a bit more research I discovered some other amazing facts on bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows very quickly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. Also bamboo uses very little water during the time it grows which means they can survive droughts.
I try to make eco-friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for clothes and other products such as sheets, underwear, throws, and baby clothes.
You can find some details on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
