I travel a lot for my studies and so usually end up eating all alone in local restaurants. I usually take a book or magazine with me to help pass the time. Last week, I was in PALM DESERT CA where I ate at Cuistot and I saw a new article on bamboo clothing. I had no idea you can make fabric out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some amazing qualities. I found out bamboo fabric is softer than most cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is a great quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent so it is a great option for gym wear or possibly as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by this article so I had to find out if it was true. I went online and purchased a couple items of clothing.
I have to say I was very happy with what I bought. The fabric really is soft, similar to silk. It was close to being dry as soon as I took it out of the washing machine which I found to be amazing. Another thing I noticed is that it did not necessarily need ironing. I do not know if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is what I look for as I can not stand ironing.
After a bit more research I found out some more amazing facts on bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows incredibly fast which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo uses little water during the growth period meaning they can survive droughts.
I do my best to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothing and other products such as robes, blankets, throws, and baby clothes.
You can find plenty of information on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
