I travel a lot for my studies and so regularly end up eating all alone in restaurants. I usually take a book or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. Last week, I was in PAINESVILLE OH where I ate at Glenda's Pizza Depot and I saw a really interesting cover story about bamboo clothes. I did not realise you can make clothing out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some amazing qualities. For example, bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than regular cotton. They say it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is an excellent quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent which means it is a excellent possibility for gym gear or also as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by this article so I had to find out for myself. I searched online and purchased a few pieces of clothing.
I have to admit I was pretty impressed with the quality. The fabric definitely is soft, not unlike silk. It was pretty much dry after I took it from the washing machine which I think is incredible. The other thing I noticed is that it did not particularly need much ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is a quality I look for as I can not stand ironing.
After some more research I found out some other incredible pieces of information on bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows extremely quickly which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. Plus bamboo needs only a small amount of water during the growing period meaning they can survive droughts.
I try to make eco-friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for clothing and other products such as sheets, socks, curtains, and baby clothes.
You can find some details on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
