I move around a lot for my work and so regularly end up having dinner all alone in cafes. I like to take a good book or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. Recently, I was in PAGOSA SPRINGS CO where I ate at Daylight Donuts and Cafe and I read a really interesting cover story about bamboo clothing. I did not realise you can make clothes out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some amazing qualities. It turns out bamboo fabric is softer than most cotton. They say it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is a fantastic quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent so it is a good choice for gym gear or possibly as bamboo towels. I was interested by this article so I had to find out if it was true. I went online and purchased a couple items of clothing.
I have to say I was extremely happy with what I bought. The fabric really is soft, kind of like silk. It was pretty much dry after I took it from the washing machine which I think is incredible. The other thing I noticed is that it did not necessarily require ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is a quality I look for as I can not stand ironing.
You can find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are many organic clothes stores where you can get organic cotton clothes as well bamboo sheets.
After a bit more research I found some interesting pieces of information to do with bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows very quickly which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. Also bamboo requires only a small amount of water during the growth period which means they can survive droughts.
I attempt to make eco-friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothes and other products such as robes, socks, throws, and baby clothes.
You can find plenty of details on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
