I move around a lot for my studies and so usually end up having my dinner alone in restaurants. I usually take a good book or magazine with me to prevent boredom. Recently, I was in OSKALOOSA IA where I ate at Oskaloosa Family Restaurant and I came across an interesting cover story on bamboo. I did not know you are able to make clothes out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some amazing qualities. I found out bamboo clothing is softer than regular cotton. They say it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is a fantastic quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent so it is a good option for gym gear or possibly as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by these claims so I had to find out if it was true. I went online and purchased some items of clothing.
I should tell you I was pretty impressed with the quality. The fabric absolutely is soft, not unlike silk. It was pretty much dry when I took it out of the washing machine which I think is great. Another thing I noticed is that it did not really require ironing. I do not know if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is something I look for as I hate ironing.
You can find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are many organic clothing stores where you can purchase organic cotton clothes as well bamboo linen.
After some more research I discovered some amazing details about bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows very fast which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. Also bamboo uses very little water during the growth period which means they can survive droughts.
I attempt to make eco friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothes and other products such as sheets, socks, throws, and baby clothes.
You can find plenty of articles on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
