I travel quite a lot for my job and so usually end up having my dinner by myself in restaurants. I like to take a good book or magazine with me to prevent boredom. Recently, I was in OROVILLE CA where I ate at Taqueria Marias and I saw a really interesting article on bamboo. I had no idea you can make clothes out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some great qualities. I found out bamboo fabric is softer than regular cotton. They say it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is an excellent quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent so it is a excellent possibility for gym wear or even as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by these claims so I had to find out if this was really the case. I searched online and purchased a couple basic items of clothing.
I must tell you I was pretty impressed with the quality. The fabric definitely is soft, kind of like silk. It was close to being dry as soon as I removed it from the washing machine which I think is incredible. Another thing I noticed is that it did not particularly require ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is something I look for as I hate doing ironing.
Check out the latest bamboo clothes here or there are plenty of organic apparel stores where you can purchase organic cotton clothes as well bamboo sheets.
After some more research I found some other amazing facts to do with bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows incredibly fast which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. Plus bamboo requires little water during the time it grows which means they can survive droughts.
I try to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothes and other products such as robes, blankets, curtains, and baby clothes.
You can find more details on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
