I travel a lot for my studies and so often end up having dinner all alone in restaurants. I often take a novel or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. Recently, I was in ORLANDO FL where I ate at Alex Tortilleria & Restaurant and I read a new cover story to do with bamboo. I did not know you could make clothes out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some amazing qualities. I found out bamboo clothing is softer than regular cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is a fantastic quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent making it a great possibility for gym gear or possibly as bamboo towels. I was interested by these claims so I had to find out if it was true. I went online and purchased a couple pieces of clothing.

I should tell you I was pretty impressed with the quality. The fabric really is soft, not unlike silk. It was almost dry when I took it out of the washing machine which I found to be great. I also noticed is that it did not necessarily require ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is what I look for as I hate ironing.

After a bit more research I found out some more incredible pieces of information about bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows incredibly fast which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. Also bamboo needs only a small amount of water during the growing period meaning they can survive droughts.

I do my best to make eco friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as sheets, underwear, throws, and baby clothes.

You can find more details on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
