I travel a lot for my work and so usually end up having dinner all alone in restaurants. I usually take a book or magazine with me to prevent boredom. Recently, I was in ONTONAGON MI where I ate at Foothills and I saw an interesting cover story on bamboo. I did not realise you can make fabric out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some amazing qualities. For example, bamboo clothing is softer than regular cotton. They say it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is a fantastic quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent making it a good choice for gym wear or possibly as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by what I had discovered so I had to find out if this was really the case. I searched online and got a couple items of clothing.
I must tell you I was extremely impressed. The fabric absolutely is soft, not unlike silk. It was pretty much dry after I took it out of the washing machine which I thought was incredible. The other thing I noticed is that it did not particularly need much ironing. I do not know if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is something I look for as I hate ironing.
You can find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are many organic apparel stores where you can purchase organic cotton clothes as well bamboo linen.
After a little more research I found out some more incredible pieces of information to do with bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows extremely quickly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo uses little water during the time it grows meaning they can survive droughts.
I try to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for clothing and other products such as towels, socks, curtains, and baby clothes.
You can find plenty of articles on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
