I travel a lot for my studies and so often end up having dinner by myself in local restaurants. I usually take a novel or magazine with me to help pass the time. Last week, I was in ONALASKA WI where I ate at Lee Do Thai Chinese Express and I came across an interesting cover story about bamboo. I had no idea you can make clothes out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some amazing qualities. It turns out bamboo clothing is softer than organic cotton. They say it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is a fantastic quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent making it a good option for gym clothes or also as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by these claims so I had to find out if it was true. I searched online and bought some items of clothing.

I must tell you I was very impressed. The fabric really is soft, kind of like silk. It was almost dry after I took it out of the washing machine which I thought was incredible. Another thing I noticed is that it did not really require ironing. I do not know if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is something I look for as I hate ironing.

After a bit more research I discovered some other amazing facts on bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows incredibly fast which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo requires little water during the time it grows which means they can survive droughts.

I attempt to make eco-friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for clothes and other products such as robes, socks, throws, and baby clothes.

You can find plenty of information on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
