I travel quite a lot for my job and so usually end up eating alone in local restaurants. I like to take a book or magazine with me to prevent boredom. Last week, I was in OMAHA NE where I ate at D J'S Kitchen and I came across a really interesting article about bamboo. I had no idea you could make clothes out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. For example, bamboo fabric is softer than regular cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is a great quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent which means it is a excellent possibility for gym clothes or also as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by this article so I had to find out for myself. I looked online and bought some items of clothing.

I have to admit I was very happy with what I bought. The fabric absolutely is soft, not unlike silk. It was pretty much dry when I took it from the washing machine which I found to be amazing. The other thing I noticed is that it did not necessarily need ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is something I look for as I hate ironing.

After a little more research I found some interesting details to do with bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows very quickly which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo uses little water during the growth period which means they can survive droughts.

I do my best to make eco-friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as towels, blankets, rugs, and baby clothes.

You can find some articles on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
