I move around a lot for my studies and so usually end up having my dinner by myself in restaurants. I like to take a novel or magazine with me to help pass the time. The other day, I was in OLYMPIA WA where I ate at Bayview Deli & Bakery and I read an interesting cover story to do with bamboo clothes. I had no idea you can make fabric out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some great qualities. I found out bamboo fabric is softer than organic cotton. They say it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is a great quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent making it a excellent possibility for gym wear or possibly as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by what I had discovered so I had to find out if this was really the case. I searched online and bought a couple pieces of clothing.
I should admit I was pretty impressed. The fabric definitely is soft, not unlike silk. It was close to being dry after I took it from the washing machine which I thought was great. Another thing I noticed is that it did not necessarily require ironing. I do not know if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is what I look for as I can not stand ironing.
Check out the latest bamboo clothes here or there are plenty of organic apparel stores where you can buy organic cotton clothes as well bamboo towels.
After a bit more research I discovered some incredible details to do with bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows extremely quickly which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. Plus bamboo requires very little water during the growing period so they can survive droughts.
I attempt to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as sheets, socks, curtains, and baby clothes.
You can find some details on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
