I travel quite a lot for my job and so usually end up eating all alone in restaurants. I usually take a book or magazine with me to help pass the time. The other day, I was in OKLAHOMA CITY OK where I ate at Homeland Stores Inc - Oklahoma City Stores and I saw a new piece on bamboo clothes. I had no idea you could make clothes out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some great qualities. For example, bamboo fabric is softer than regular cotton. They say it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is a great quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent making it a excellent possibility for gym wear or even as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by this article so I had to find out if it was true. I looked online and purchased a few pieces of clothing.
I should tell you I was pretty impressed. The fabric definitely is soft, kind of like silk. It was close to being dry when I took it out of the washing machine which I found to be incredible. Another thing I noticed is that it did not necessarily require ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is a quality I look for as I can not stand ironing.
After a bit more research I found some other incredible facts on bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows very rapidly which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. Plus bamboo requires only a small amount of water during the growth period which means they can survive droughts.
I attempt to make eco friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as towels, blankets, curtains, and baby clothes.
You can find plenty of articles on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
