I travel a lot for my job and so regularly end up eating by myself in restaurants. I usually take a novel or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. Recently, I was in OKLAHOMA CITY OK where I ate at House of Hunan and I came across a really interesting article about bamboo. I did not know you are able to make fabric out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. It turns out bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than organic cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is an excellent quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent which means it is a good choice for gym clothes or also as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by these claims so I had to find out for myself. I searched online and got some items of clothing.
I have to tell you I was very impressed. The fabric really is soft, kind of like silk. It was pretty much dry as soon as I took it out of the washing machine which I thought was amazing. I also noticed is that it did not particularly need much ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is what I look for as I hate ironing.
After a little more research I found some more amazing facts about bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows incredibly quickly which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. Also bamboo requires only a small amount of water during the time it grows which means they can survive droughts.
I attempt to make eco-friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothes and other products such as towels, blankets, rugs, and baby clothes.
You can find some information on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
