I travel a lot for my work and so usually end up having my dinner by myself in cafes. I often take a book or magazine with me to help pass the time. Last week, I was in OCEAN CITY MD where I ate at Hanna's Marina Deck Restaurant Inc and I read a new piece on bamboo clothing. I did not realise you are able to make clothing out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. It turns out bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than most cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is an excellent quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent so it is a great possibility for gym wear or also as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by what I had discovered so I had to find out for myself. I searched online and got some pieces of clothing.

I have to tell you I was pretty happy with what I bought. The fabric absolutely is soft, not unlike silk. It was close to being dry as soon as I took it out of the washing machine which I thought was incredible. Another thing I noticed is that it did not particularly need ironing. I do not know if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is a quality I look for as I hate doing ironing.

After a little more research I found out some other interesting details about bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows incredibly fast which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. Plus bamboo requires little water during the growing period which means they can survive droughts.

I do my best to make eco-friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as towels, socks, curtains, and baby clothes.

You can find plenty of information on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
