I travel a lot for my work and so usually end up eating alone in cafes. I like to take a good book or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. The other day, I was in OAKLAND OR where I ate at Lamplighter Inn and I came across a new piece to do with bamboo. I had no idea you could make clothing out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some amazing qualities. For example, bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than regular cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is a great quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent so it is a good choice for gym wear or also as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by what I had discovered so I had to find out for myself. I searched online and bought a couple pieces of clothing.

I should say I was very happy with what I bought. The fabric absolutely is soft, similar to silk. It was pretty much dry as soon as I took it from the washing machine which I found to be great. The other thing I noticed is that it did not really need much ironing. I do not know if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is what I look for as I hate ironing.

After a little more research I discovered some other amazing facts about bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows incredibly quickly which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. Plus bamboo needs little water during the growth period which means they can survive droughts.

I do my best to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as sheets, underwear, curtains, and baby clothes.
