I travel quite a lot for my work and so often end up eating all alone in local restaurants. I usually take a good book or magazine with me to help pass the time. The other day, I was in NYACK NY where I ate at Dimola Deli and I came across a really interesting piece to do with bamboo. I had no idea you could make clothes out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some amazing qualities. I found out bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than regular cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is a fantastic quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent which means it is a excellent possibility for gym clothes or possibly as bamboo towels. I was interested by this article so I had to find out for myself. I looked online and got a couple basic items of clothing.
I should say I was extremely impressed. The fabric definitely is soft, similar to silk. It was pretty much dry after I removed it from the washing machine which I think is incredible. Another thing I noticed is that it did not particularly require ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is something I look for as I hate doing ironing.
You can find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are many organic clothes stores where you can purchase organic cotton clothes as well bamboo linen.
After a bit more research I found out some other amazing pieces of information on bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows very rapidly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo requires only a small amount of water during the growing period which means they can survive droughts.
I do my best to make eco-friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for clothing and other products such as towels, blankets, rugs, and baby clothes.
You can find some articles on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
