I move around a lot for my studies and so often end up eating by myself in local restaurants. I often take a book or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. The other day, I was in NOVATO CA where I ate at Tommy Salsa and I saw a new cover story on bamboo. I did not know you could make clothing out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. For example, bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than organic cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is an excellent quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent so it is a good possibility for gym clothes or also as bamboo towels. I was interested by what I had discovered so I had to find out for myself. I went online and bought some items of clothing.

I have to say I was pretty happy with what I bought. The fabric definitely is soft, similar to silk. It was close to being dry after I took it out of the washing machine which I thought was great. Another thing I noticed is that it did not particularly need much ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is something I look for as I hate doing ironing.

You can find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are numerous organic apparel stores where you can purchase organic cotton clothes as well bamboo linen.

After a little more research I discovered some interesting details on bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows incredibly quickly which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. Plus bamboo needs very little water during the time it grows meaning they can survive droughts.

I attempt to make eco-friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as towels, socks, curtains, and baby clothes.

You can find some articles on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
