I move around a lot for my job and so regularly end up having my dinner all alone in restaurants. I like to take a book or magazine with me to help pass the time. Recently, I was in NORWALK CT where I ate at American Steak House and I read a new article to do with bamboo. I had no idea you are able to make clothing out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some amazing qualities. It turns out bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than most cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is an excellent quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent making it a great option for gym gear or possibly as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by what I had discovered so I had to find out for myself. I went online and got some basic items of clothing.
I have to tell you I was extremely impressed with the quality. The fabric absolutely is soft, kind of like silk. It was close to being dry when I took it out of the washing machine which I think is amazing. The other thing I noticed is that it did not really require ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is what I look for as I can not stand ironing.
After some more research I discovered some amazing facts about bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows extremely quickly which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. Plus bamboo uses only a small amount of water during the growth period meaning they can survive droughts.
I attempt to make eco-friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothing and other products such as robes, socks, rugs, and baby clothes.
You can find plenty of details on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
