I travel quite a lot for my job and so usually end up having my dinner by myself in cafes. I usually take a book or magazine with me to help pass the time. The other day, I was in NORTHWOOD OH where I ate at Cyclone Subs Wraps & Salads and I read a new article on bamboo. I did not know you can make fabric out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some amazing qualities. I found out bamboo clothing is softer than most cotton. They say it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is an excellent quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent so it is a excellent choice for gym gear or possibly as bamboo towels. I was interested by this article so I had to find out if this was really the case. I searched online and bought some items of clothing.
I have to tell you I was pretty happy with what I bought. The fabric definitely is soft, kind of like silk. It was pretty much dry when I removed it from the washing machine which I think is great. I also noticed is that it did not really require ironing. I do not know if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is what I look for as I can not stand ironing.
After some more research I found some more interesting pieces of information about bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows incredibly rapidly which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo uses only a small amount of water during the growing period so they can survive droughts.
I try to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for clothes and other products such as robes, blankets, rugs, and baby clothes.
You can find more information on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
