I travel quite a lot for my studies and so usually end up eating all alone in local restaurants. I often take a book or magazine with me to prevent boredom. The other day, I was in NORTH PALM BEACH FL where I ate at Key West Bar and Grill and I came across a really interesting cover story on bamboo clothes. I did not realise you could make fabric out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some great qualities. I found out bamboo clothing is softer than most cotton. They say it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is a fantastic quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent making it a great possibility for gym clothes or also as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by this article so I had to find out if it was true. I went online and purchased a few items of clothing.
I should admit I was very impressed with the quality. The fabric absolutely is soft, kind of like silk. It was pretty much dry as soon as I removed it from the washing machine which I think is great. I also noticed is that it did not particularly need much ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is what I look for as I hate ironing.
After some more research I discovered some interesting facts on bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows very fast which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo uses only a small amount of water during the growing period meaning they can survive droughts.
I attempt to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for clothes and other products such as towels, underwear, rugs, and baby clothes.
You can find plenty of information on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
