I travel quite a lot for my studies and so often end up having my dinner alone in cafes. I often take a good book or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. Last week, I was in NORTH KINGSTOWN RI where I ate at Gil's Place Family Restaurant and I saw a really interesting article about bamboo clothes. I did not realise you can make clothing out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some amazing qualities. For example, bamboo fabric is softer than regular cotton. They say it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is a fantastic quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent so it is a great possibility for gym clothes or also as bamboo towels. I was interested by these claims so I had to find out for myself. I searched online and bought a couple items of clothing.

I should admit I was extremely happy with what I bought. The fabric definitely is soft, similar to silk. It was close to being dry when I took it from the washing machine which I think is amazing. The other thing I noticed is that it did not particularly require ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is what I look for as I hate ironing.

After some more research I discovered some other amazing details to do with bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows incredibly rapidly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. Also bamboo requires little water during the growth period which means they can survive droughts.

I try to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as towels, socks, rugs, and baby clothes.

You can find some details on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
