I travel quite a lot for my job and so usually end up eating by myself in local restaurants. I usually take a good book or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. Last week, I was in NORTH HOLLYWOOD CA where I ate at Frank's Steakhouse and I saw a really interesting cover story about bamboo. I had no idea you could make fabric out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. For example, bamboo clothing is softer than organic cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is a fantastic quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent making it a good possibility for gym wear or also as bamboo towels. I was interested by what I had discovered so I had to find out for myself. I looked online and bought a couple basic items of clothing.

I must tell you I was very happy with what I bought. The fabric really is soft, not unlike silk. It was almost dry when I took it out of the washing machine which I thought was great. The other thing I noticed is that it did not really need much ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is what I look for as I hate doing ironing.

You can find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are many organic clothes stores where you can buy organic cotton clothes as well bamboo sheets.

After some more research I found some other amazing facts on bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows very quickly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. Plus bamboo uses only a small amount of water during the growth period meaning they can survive droughts.

I attempt to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothes and other products such as sheets, socks, rugs, and baby clothes.

You can find plenty of details on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
